Clay Field Therapy® Box – Accoya

Purpose-built for Clay Field practice, this professionally made wooden box is designed for repeated therapeutic and experiential work with clay, water, touch and physical pressure.

The internal field measures 37 × 41 × 5 cm. Its proportions provide a contained working area for exploring touch, movement, pressure, digging and engagement with the clay, while the 5 cm depth offers additional containment when clay and water are moved more actively around the field.

Made from Accoya

Accoya was chosen specifically because Clay Field work places unusual demands on timber.

Repeated contact with wet clay and water can cause conventional untreated wood to swell, shrink or distort over time. Accoya offers exceptional dimensional stability and durability around moisture, making it particularly suited to repeated professional use.

The timber is smoothly finished to approximately 180 grit, retaining a natural, tactile surface.

No varnish coating is required.

This is not a general-purpose wooden tray adapted for clay work.

Each box is professionally made in small batches and constructed to provide the stability and strength needed for the substantial hand pressure that can occur as clients press, push, dig and work through the clay.

The result is a robust therapeutic tool designed specifically around the practical demands of Clay Field practice.
